LPA-Excil Electronics is a specialist in the design and manufacture of leading technology, high reliability and energy efficient light emitting diode (LED) based lighting systems.
The product range includes not only LED down lights which would be applied where traditionally halogen types would have been utilised, but also, high output, general illumination luminaires capable of equal or greater lumen output than their fluorescent equivalents.
Being a solid state device, the LED is mechanically very robust and therefore particularly suited to arduous applications. LPA-Excil has combined its many years experience in the design of electronics and lighting solutions for transport and other high reliability markets with the benefits of LED technology and this combination has resulted in a comprehensive range of high performance lighting products and solutions.
The range of products and application scope is wide but all are designed with the common theme of low power consumption, high reliability and therefore, low life cycle cost.
All drive electronics and LED light engines are designed within LPA-Excil’s own in-house development facility. Having many years of design experience in high reliability markets, the team is well aware of the main factors affecting reliability and particular care is exercised to ensure that the drive electronics is designed to withstand the arduous conditions of the application such as supply electrical surges and transients and high levels of shock and vibration.
As LED life is critically dependent upon device junction temperature, all solutions undergo an extensive thermal design and evaluation procedure to ensure the lowest possible operating temperatures. This ensures the optimum operating life typically up to 100,000 hours dependent upon the product type and technology utilised.
All products undergo extensive type approvals testing to ensure compliance with all required industry standards such as safety, EMC, fire performance, shock and vibration, environmental, surge and transient and crash performance.
As part of the design service, we are able to assist our clients in determining the optimum lighting solution with our software simulation facility which is able to accurately predict illumination and uniformity levels.
